Steve began his career with D.B. Root & Company in September 2003 as a registered assistant supporting David B. Root, Jr. Today he continues to work with David, as well as Carrie Coghill-Kuntz, in addition to working as CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional for his own clients. Steve possesses an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation, which furthers his commitment to implementing proper fiduciary practices, policies and procedures. He also holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations with Commonwealth Financial Network. Clients who have worked with Steve are familiar with his intelligence, exceptional attention to detail, and willingness to provide assistance. For the second year in a row, Steve was named a *5-Star "Best in Client Satisfaction" Wealth Manager by Pittsburgh Magazine (results compiled by Crescendo Business Service, a national independent research firm).
Steve holds an accounting degree from Duquesne University. He has worked in the financial industry for 15 years, starting as a senior customer representative for Dreyfus Investment Services. In 1998, he joined Federated Investors as a mutual fund wholesaler in the bank broker/dealer sales division. In 2001, he pursued an opportunity with Confluence Technologies, a software company specializing in performance calculations for mutual fund companies.
Steve is actively involved with community service initiatives through his church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran of Wexford. Currently he is a member of the Community Ministries, active in various fundraising activities supporting Habitat for Humanity, and a former congregation council member.
He and wife, Angela, are the proud parents of three children - Vivien, Luke and Martin. When not spending time with the kids, Steve enjoys playing golf.
