Pittsburgh Post Gazette: Sometimes life upends those diligent savings plans

Even though more than half are still paying off college debt of their own, millennials want their children to have a better college experience than they did. Fidelity reports that millennials intend to cover 74 percent of their children’s college costs, with 46 percent intending to foot the full bill.

“Millennials are pretty motivated after going to school and accumulating probably a fair amount of debt,” said David Root Jr. of D.B. Root & Co., a Downtown wealth management firm.
